The Career Design Center is excited to introduce Life Design Labs, a key component of our dynamic career readiness and life success initiative at Spalding University. These labs are designed to foster exploration, reflection and self-empowerment, beginning with a deep understanding of oneself and answering the all-important self-sustaining “Why” question. Why am I doing what I am doing? Each lab experience is student-driven and utilizes the Design Thinking method to invent creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable life challenges.

The goal of the Life Design Labs is to help students discover purpose, the freedom to explore, and reflect on the diverse opportunities available within our local community. Students will have access to individual coaching through the Career Design Center to understand their natural strengths, follow their curiosity, and investigate community possibilities. This approach will guide them in creating a personalized pathway to their future.

These Life Design Lab opportunities can be integrated into all aspects of the University experience from holistic classroom experiences to student organizations and are open to both graduate and undergraduate students.

The Life Design Lab experience will help students build a diverse group of mentors that stem from real-world projects and interactions. Students will be supported to explore various career and community participation options, develop critical skills and experience, gain valuable insights, and build a strong network for personal and professional life-long growth.

Ultimately, the Career Design Center aims to ensure that Spalding students are well-prepared to live a joyful life, to make informed career and life choices, excel professionally and personally, discover the importance of a healthy work life balance, and share their talents actively with their communities.
