BS in Social Work World Changer Scholarship Campaign

Since 2021, the World Changer Scholarship has provided $38,400 in scholarship support to BS in Social Work students. To date, 18 students have received an average of about $2100. These grants have helped students to follow their dream to serve our community and make it a better place.

We invite you to invest in community well-being by contributing to the World Changer Scholarship fund for undergraduate social work majors. Social workers ensure that everyone can reach their potential and contribute to our community. We foster well-being at the individual, family, group, and community levels. Building well-being requires community resources, social relationships, and opportunities to thrive. Our BS in Social Work graduates help build a thriving, vibrant community by collaborating with others to ensure everyone has a solid foundation in life. This builds resilience and prevents future problems. When well-being breaks down, professional social workers reinforce strengths and rebuild lives. Our work to nurture social, mental, financial, physical, and spiritual well-being is transformative.

Social workers build well-being throughout people’s lives. We support children by researching how early experiences affect child development, pushing for high-quality education for all children, and offering help to teens with drug or alcohol problems. In adulthood, social workers supply mental health counseling, work to make housing safe and affordable, and deliver literacy programs for adults who cannot read. We support older adults by exploring how social isolation affects people’s wellbeing, involving older people in tutoring programs so they can remain engaged in their communities, and delivering home-based services so people can age in place. By engaging with people across the lifespan, social workers construct and sustain well-being.
