It is hard to get accepted into a graduate program in the SOPP. We don’t want unexpected financial hardships to make achieving that degree even harder. We risk the field narrowing to only the financially privileged if we don’t create a safety net for our future psychologists who experience financial emergencies during their graduate training. This would be a travesty for the field of psychology, but even more so for the breadth of clients needing services in our city, state, and country. Thus, the School of Professional Psychology is establishing its very own BRIDGE fund - Building Resources for Individuals Deserving of Graduate Education - to be that safety net.

Every year, monies that we receive will be given to graduate students in need of emergency support to help them persist in their training, so that they can become the psychologists our society needs in the years to come.

This year to get us started three donors have pledged a combined $5,000 in matching funds if $5,000 can be raised during our Giving Day campaign

As faculty in the SOPP, we promise to do our best to be excellent educators. We need your help in helping our graduate students in a crisis moment persist in their education.
