    Social Work Career Opportunities

    Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:35 AM until 12:25 PMEastern Daylight Time UTC -04:00

    Hosted by the BS in Social Work Program
    Join us for a conversation with social workers currently employed in:
    • Mental health/substance abuse counseling
    • Medical social work
    • Child welfare
    • School social work
    • Criminal/restorative justice
    • Community organizing/macro practice
    We'll explore their typical workday, what they like and don't like about their work, and the career path that led them to their current position. We'll also look at job prospects and the education pathway for each specialization. We'll cover questions like:
    • How do I get a social work license?
    • How do I get certified as an alcohol and drug counselor?
    • Will adding a minor to my social work degree help me to get a job? What about adding a minor or certification to a non-social work degree?
    • How can I get help with the cost of an undergraduate degree?
    We'll end with an open Q&A session so that you can get all YOUR questions answered!
    =====
    Social workers ensure that everyone can reach their potential and contribute to our community. We foster well-being at the individual, family, group, and community levels. Building well-being requires community resources, social relationships, and opportunities to thrive. Our BS in Social Work graduates help build a thriving, vibrant community by collaborating with others to ensure everyone has a solid foundation in life. This builds resilience and prevents future problems. When well-being breaks down, professional social workers reinforce strengths and rebuild lives. Our work to nurture social, mental, financial, physical, and spiritual well-being is transformative. Join us for a life-changing educational experience!
