This course is designed for occupational therapy practitioners and aligns with Kentucky Administration Regulation 201KAR28:170.
Topics include: therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation, muscle re-education, TENS, iontophoresis, wound healing/laser therapy, and edema control.

Upon successful completion and five supervised clinical DPAM treatments, the therapist is eligible to apply for DPAM Specialty Certification by KBLOT.
Instructor: Jyoti K, Heiple, PhD, OTR/L, CHT, CAPS
Dr. Heiple earned a BS in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University, an MHS in Occupational Therapy with a concentration in orthopedics from the University of Indianapolis, and a Ph.D. in Health Professions Education from Bellarmine University. Prior to joining the ASOT faculty, Dr. Heiple specialized in upper extremity rehabilitation at the Kleinert Kutz Hand Care Center (Louisville and Southern Indiana locations), where she developed advanced clinical expertise that led to her Board Certification in Hand Therapy (CHT). She obtained extensive experience in fabricating custom orthotics and treating complex traumatic upper extremity conditions, including hand replants and hand transplants. Her research interests include evidence-based occupational therapy assessment and treatment approaches related to upper extremity injuries.
